Fi-Foil Helps You Capitalize On the Federal, State and Local Tax Credits and Deductions...
Fi-Foil is committed to helping you, your company and your customers take advantage of the incentives available through the various Government programs.
Several tax incentives were extended and changed through the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, also known as the "fiscal cliff bill", which passed Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
FOR EXISTING HOMES (updated 1/2013):
Existing homes are eligible for tax credit for a series of efficiency measures that pertain to the home envelope. The credit can amount to as much as up to 10% of the material costs for adding insulation to walls, ceilings, or other parts of the building envelope that meets the 2009 IECC (& supplements) specifications. The credit is capped at $500. However, it can be applied to any purchases made between January 1, 2012 thru December 31, 2013, unless you already reached this cap prior to this timeframe (and as far back as 2006).
FOR NEW HOMES (updated 1/2013):
This tax credit was extended and changed. The new homes credit provides an incentive to builders for new homes that reduce energy usage.
1) IRS Form 8908 is the form to claim the $2000 tax credit for home builders selling an energy-efficient home. See http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8908.pdf and associated instructions, as published in 2011.
2) The tax credit is retroactive to homes sold from January 1, 2012.
3) The builder must provide a level of heating and cooling energy consumption that is at lease 50 percent below that of a comparable dwelling unit constructed in accordance with the 2006 IECC.
A tax deduction of up to $1.80 per square foot is available to owners or tenants (or designers, in the case of government-owned buildings) of new or existing commercial buildings that are constructed or reconstructed to save at least 50% of the heating, cooling, ventilation, water heating and interior lighting energy cost of a building that meets ASHRAE 90.1-2001. For more details, please visit - http://energytaxincentives.org/business/commercial_buildings.php
These deductions are available for buildings or systems placed in service from January 1, 2006, through December 31, 2013.
